Bradley Cooper, that guy who played the lame Will Tippin in Alias and is now banging Olivia Wilde, is a big fan of Dan Simmons's book Hyperion and has written a spec script for a film based on it. Hyperion is a sort of sci-fi version of Canterbury Tales featuring a group of people traveling together preparing to face something on an alien world. Much of the book is told in flashbacks as we learn why these people are where they are and those stories are epic. I fear I will have to reevaluate my opinion of Bradley Cooper now.
